Welcome to the first edition of the Peterborough Workspace Newsletter for 2008.
I mentioned in the December edition somewhat (tongue in cheek) that we could be posting “house full notices”, well that has now happened. Since Peterborough Workspace first opened its doors in 1991, it has never been 100% full until now. In January a further 6 businesses moved in bringing the total to 30 since 1st April and even though one business is moving out next month a new tenant has already agreed to take occupancy. Demand is still high and as we have a healthy turnover of businesses we have now created a waiting list. This is a fantastic achievement when you consider that the occupancy level was below 60% twelve months ago and only 1 business moved in from 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2007. The reason for the success is simply because more people now know that we exist, which has been achieved by an intensive programme of profile raising over the last 12 months.
As far as our plans for 2008 are concerned these will continue to focus on providing the best possible support that we can for the on - site businesses. At the forefront of this will be our Workshops. Rawlinsons have agreed to run a series of their Business Builder Workshops starting next month with “Grow your business with simple stuff that works”. Also next month Wendy Howard of “Spirit of Venus” will deliver a workshop on “The 7 most common mistakes that small business can make ---- and how to avoid them”.
This month's Business Link feature is all about USPs and the advantages of them.
