The foundations of our company were laid in early 2007. Initially the company distributed medical devices and surgical products to the healthcare profession. With research and development, it was decided to manufacture our own medical devices and hopefully pharmaceuticals in the future. Manufacture of medical devices/pharmaceuticals requires a huge amount of research data to be generated in addition to the validation of manufacturing processes by appropriate authorities to safeguard the public. Prior to a product being validated, patient trial data is required. Once a product is validated it is required by authorities that market surveillance is undertaken to document its continuing safety. Obviously, to undertake all these activities one requires huge amounts of work, equipment and lots of investment. Our company is a small British player in the field of giant companies and as such we cannot match the resources of these big players. We started the development of our first product Uma Jeunesse, an injectable medical device for the correction of facial lines three years ago. The first batch was manufactured and clinical trials started last year. We recently had an audit of our quality management system as well as of the product Uma Jeunesse by European auditors. In April, Uma Jeunesse was granted the European validation certificate. This means that we can now bring Uma Jeunesse to the market. We are working on other products which will be manufactured, validated and brought to the market in due course. For example we have one product for arthritis and another for stopping bleeding during an operation. We hope that our research based approach and dedication to our work will help us bring these products to the market for wider public benefit.
