Newsletter - April 2008
Welcome to the April '08 edition of the Peterborough Workspace Newsletter.
We had three businesses move out of Workspace House in March, each of whom is looking to take their business to the next level, with one business moving in. This activity is very natural. In the last twelve months 30 businesses moved in and nine moved out. The turnover of businesses is healthy and it is good to see businesses grow and prosper. The good news is that we have three units available for occupation, as detailed below. We currently have a high demand for our units and the expectation is that these units will soon be taken, although it is likely that other units will become available.
The work on converting the canteen and current board room into offices is on track, as is the creation of a new canteen and much larger board room. I am very impressed with the quality of work that has taken place and look forward to formerly opening these new facilities next month.
This month we had another excellent Rawlinsons Workshop "Your Vision - Your Numbers", which as always was well received. I must pay tribute to Mark Jackson of Rawlinsons who has been delivering these workshops for several months and they have all provided valuable knowledge to the businesses. This month Mark takes a break whilst the work on the new board room is completed.
This month's Business Link feature is all about a “Budgets and the benefits of having one” and the Workspace House business article is by Homefresh, who moved in last summer.
Peterborough Workspace is ideal for those businesses working from home who want to get to the next level. If you are aware of any such business who would benefit from the services which we provide please refer them directly to me.

April Business Focus - homefresh
No time for housework? Or do you just hate ironing and cleaning? Then why not hire a cleaner to do the chores you hate!
Local housekeeping agency “Home Fresh” is the answer for those of you who need to claw back some free time. Their fully vetted cleaners are available for a minimum of two hours per week for only £8.50ph. It's not only affordable to you but will actually create quality time for you to spend exactly how you wish.
Proprietor James McCullen says “Because we allocate you the same housekeeper every week, they become familiar with how you like to have your chores done. With the aid of our task sheet our housekeepers work with you to tailor a cleaning plan that suits you. This method of operating ensures that you get your house cleaned the way you want it done.”
James added “Using an agency such as ours ensures we only put forward local, honest and reliable applicants to you. Any housekeeper you are introduced to will have passed our unique three stage interview process. A visit to the housekeepers own home is part of the final interview. This allows us an opportunity to see what standard they clean to and how they live. It's an essential part of the vetting procedure as we have to use people who will understand the high expectations that our clients demand.”
When you consider that we work more hours than anyone else in Europe, it's no wonder James's business has grown from strength to strength. The domestic services sector continues to explode past the £9 billion pound mark with more and more of us employing cleaners, nannies and gardeners. These services all have one thing in common and that's to give us back that rare commodity of “time”.
