Newsletter - July 2008
Welcome to the July '08 edition of the Peterborough Workspace Newsletter.
Although the level of enquires remains high, for the second month in a row no new businesses moved into Workspace House. Two businesses have moved out for personal reasons and as a result we have five offices currently available which are detailed below. The offices are of various sizes and will accommodate from 2-3 people up to 8 people.
As I have mentioned in previous months the ebb and flow of businesses into Workspace House is natural and indeed we have gone from having 20 vacant units/offices twelve months ago, to being 100% full four months ago to the current position.
Last month we had two excellent workshops, the first by Mark Jackson of Rawlinson's and the second by Alan Brighton of Action Coach. This month Mark is back again delivering a workshop on “Increasing your productivity”. The benefits of these workshops, which are free, to the onsite businesses are significant as they provide a number of hints and tips on how to approach the minefield of running your business.
Like last year the Peterborough Workspace team will be attending the East of England show on 13th, 14th and 15th June and again we will be in the Federation of Small Business's tent. If you are passing please pop in and say hello.
This month's Business Link feature is on how to make one to one instructions effective and the Workspace House business article is on the Book People who joined us earlier in the year.
Peterborough Workspace is ideal for those businesses working from home who want to get to the next level. If you are aware of any such business which would benefit from the services which we provide please refer them directly to me.

July Business Focus - the Book People
The Book People have been operational for the last 19 years, bringing great value books to millions of people. Now one of the UK's largest and most successful booksellers, The Book People were the winners of the BOOKSELLER RETAIL AWARDS 2007 and run web sites for such people as Jamie Oliver and are featured in the Richard and Judy T.V. series.
Locally we cover a 40 mile approx radius of Peterborough. We deliver to any workplace from tower blocks to local shops, to schools and hospitals as well as leisure centres/mother and toddler groups/playgroups and clubs.
In addition we hold Book Fairs or Book Events in large venues e.g. staff restaurants - mainly for firms who are not able to take sample books in the usual manner. We also attend School Book Fairs, in which parents are invited by the school to see and buy books after school hours e.g. Cottesmore, Eye Primary and Leighton Schools.
The Book People has also established an Essential Catalogue for Schools. Locally we are invited by Pre School Learning Alliance to attend their annual party and events day at Huntingdon Racecourse to introduce families of younger children to early reading and book awareness.
You may also see us at small book stalls for Fund Raising events e.g. Village Halls or charity venues like Thorpe Hall and Anna's Hope based around Stamford.
All the titles we deliver are offered at our incredible discounts, giving you the opportunity to shop in your own time with no strings attached. If you decide to purchase any of these wonderful books, simply add your name to the order form, leave your cash or cheque payment, or complete your payment on line with tbp.co.uk. We will return a few days later to hand deliver your books there and then. Yes it really is that easy!
We will visit you approximately every six weeks. Each time you will see a new and varied range of up to the moment popular books from the UK's leading publishers.
If you currently do not receive a visit, or would like to suggest a workplace that would enjoy this unique service, then please email us at books@wild4life.co.uk or visit or website tbp.co.uk
