Welcome to the May edition of Peterborough Workspace Newsletter.
Last month we witnessed a lot of movement at Workspace House, with two businesses moving in and three moving out. So far this year we have seen twelve businesses move in and nine move out. Although we have always had businesses come and go on a regular basis, this trend is more volatile than previously and is reflective of the current economic situation. Of the businesses which moved out, one Businesscoms Consultancy have moved to bigger premises, whilst the other two have returned home, we wish them all well for the future.Enquiries continue to be very positive and are running at an average of 2-3 per week.
In this current economic climate, it is more important than ever that we support our small businesses. At Peterborough Workspace we are very proud, of the fact that we have an 85% success rate of businesses still trading successfully after 3 years, which is more than twice the national average. One of the ways that we support our businesses, is through our regular workshops. Last month we had two excellent workshops the first, delivered by Alan Brighton of Action Coach on “The simple measures every business needs to thrive in a recession” and then Mark Jackson of Rawlinsons delivered one of their highly regarded Business Builder forums. This month we have three workshops all with a marketing theme, first we have Dawn Strange of Media Matters, then Andrew Nicholson of 4 Thinking Marketing and finally Andy Lindsay of Moving up Media.
This month's Business Link article is titled “Are you doing things right as opposed to doing the right things?” and is very thought provoking.
